≫ WHAT WE BECOME: SURVIVOR STORIES APPLICATIONS ≪

  • Applications for What We Become: Survivor Stories are currently on hold while we work on creating our second wave of combat tests.

What We Become: Survivor Stories is a series of bite-sized scenarios meant to test our new and improved combat system in action! Our first wave contained 5 different scenarios, all taking place within the What We Become universe. Our second wave will contain 5 more scenarios. If you've been waiting to play on the server, now's your chance!

Additionally, each scenario has a limited number of slots for each role in the party, as well as an overall participation limit. If you apply for a role/scenario that is already full, you will be asked to apply for a different role/scenario. You can view the number of slots remaining for the current scenario on its respective forum post, linked above.

Make sure to check out our latest newsletter if you haven't yet! It has lots of information about our upcoming lore, among other things.

Armor System Overview

  • The Armor System implements armor ticks that denote how much damage a set of armor can absorb before it is destroyed.
    • Each tick represents 20HP worth of damage.
    • Armor condition is persistent throughout a single event, meaning ticks can deplete over multiple combat scenarios.
    • Once a set of armor is destroyed, it must be replaced; it cannot be used again.

  • All armor sets in the game are split into three categories: Civilian, Police, and Military.
    • Civilian armor has 1 tick.
    • Police armor has a base of 3 ticks.
    • Military armor has a base of 5 ticks.

  • Armor sets are further categorized into Bulletproof Armor (BP) and Anti-Stab Armor (AS).
    • Bulletproof variant Military armor provides 5 BP ticks and 1 AS tick.
    • Anti-Stab variant Military armor provides 5 AS ticks and 1 BP tick.
    • Bulletproof variant Police armor provides 3 BP ticks and 1 AS tick.
    • Anti-Stab variant Police armor provides 3 AS ticks and 1 BP tick.
    • Civilian armor only provides a single tick depending on its variant.

  • Attacks made with bullets deplete BP ticks while attacks made with melee weapons deplete AS ticks.
  • Armor-Percing attacks deplete the target's base HP pool.
    • When making an Armor-Piercing attack, roll 1D5 in addition to your weapon's base damage to determine how many armor ticks are depleted.

  • So as to not complicate the system, only armored vests will be taken into account when calculating armor ticks.
  • Unique variants of armor can be dropped by bosses at the end of a combat scenario, looted during events, or received as a reward for completing quests.
