CCN (Castle Cable Network) - Written by Crrrow
CCN (Castle Cable Network) is a significant television network that has made an enduring impact on the world of media since its formation in 1980. Originally conceived as WNN (Woodwright News Network) by media mogul Will Woodwright, the network's plans were tragically interrupted when Woodwright was killed in a car accident in late 1979. Amid controversial rumors surrounding his death, multinational conglomerate CasCo took over the project, rebranding it as CCN, the world's first 24-hour news network.

On January 1, 1980, CCN made its highly anticipated debut with a lavish televised ceremony inaugurating its launch. The event was hosted by Mike Rowell, a former news anchor known for his dry wit and charisma, ensuring the network's success from the start. CCN's round-the-clock coverage provided viewers with up-to-date information on national and international stories, eliminating the need to wait for sporadic news segments or morning/evening network news programs.

In 1982, CCN expanded its offerings with the launch of CCN2. This secondary channel revolutionized news consumption by presenting viewers with concise 30-minute updates on the top national and international stories. The network's innovative programming format allowed audiences to tune in at any time and receive current information. However, CCN faced competition in 1987 with the emergence of Saxon News, a far-right cable network that offered a skewed and politically focused perspective in its journalism.

Despite the competition, CCN continued to thrive throughout the 1990s, delivering comprehensive coverage of prominent historical events. From the Persian Gulf War in 1991 to the 1992 LA Riots, the Oklahoma City Bombing, and the infamous O.J. Simpson trial, CCN played a vital role in bringing these significant events to the public's attention. The network's commitment to factual reporting and comprehensive analysis solidified its reputation as a trusted source of news and information.

As the century drew to a close, CCN remained a prominent force in the media landscape, adapting to technological advancements and evolving audience preferences. Its dedication to delivering accurate and timely reporting, combined with captivating storytelling, ensured its continued success. CCN's influence and legacy as a trailblazer in the world of 24-hour news networks continue to shape the industry even as it moves into the new millennium.

WBS (Wire Broadcast System) - Written by Crrrow
WBS, originally known as WBS Radio, is a prominent broadcasting network that has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of media and entertainment since its inception. Founded in 1925 by visionary entrepreneur Harold Montgomery, WBS began its journey as a modest radio station, broadcasting a variety of programs that captured the hearts and minds of listeners across the nation. Its commitment to quality programming and innovative storytelling quickly garnered a loyal following, establishing WBS as a household name in the world of radio.

In the late 1940s, recognizing the growing popularity and potential of television, WBS made a bold move into the realm of television broadcasting. Leveraging their expertise in audio production, the network seamlessly transitioned into the new medium, bringing captivating visuals and immersive storytelling to living rooms across the country. With a strong focus on news, sports, and entertainment, WBS TV quickly rose to prominence, captivating audiences with groundbreaking shows, live events, and thought-provoking documentaries.

Throughout the decades, WBS has remained at the forefront of broadcast innovation. The network introduced color television in the 1960s, captivating viewers with vibrant visuals and enhanced viewing experiences. WBS became synonymous with excellence in journalism, covering significant historical events such as the moon landing and the fall of the Berlin Wall, delivering news with unwavering integrity and accuracy. In the realm of entertainment, WBS produced iconic shows that have become cultural touchstones, from gripping crime dramas to heartwarming sitcoms.

As the network entered the 1980s, WBS soon found competition with the new generation of Cable TV networks, CCN (Castle Cable Network) in 1980, and Saxon News in 1987. Despite these newer Cable Networks siphoning viewers from WBS Evening News, which had been a staple of American Television for nearly three decades, thanks to talent such as Ed Donovan, Betsy Fitzhugh, Maurice Templeton, and Jack Mulcahy, WBS-TV has managed to hang onto "Third Place" in viewership against these new titans of journalism.

The launch of the WBS website in 1996 marked a significant milestone, offering viewers access to exclusive content, interactive features, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into their favorite programs. The network's commitment to innovation and adaptability ensured its continued success, setting the stage for WBS to ride into the remainder of the 20th century as a reliable source of information and entertainment far into the new millennium.

NCB (National Conglomerated Broadcasting) - Written by Crrrow
NCB (National Conglomerated Broadcasting) is a renowned television network that has left an indelible mark on the media landscape since its inception. Formed in 1928 as a joint effort between the American Radio Corporation (ARC), Generalized Electromatics (GE), and the American Pride Fruit Company, NCB began as a humble radio broadcast service. The collaboration of these diverse entities brought together technological expertise, financial backing, and an innovative vision for the future of broadcasting.

In the early years, NCB Radio rapidly gained popularity, captivating audiences with a wide range of programming, including news, dramas, and serialized adventures. The network's strategic partnerships and emphasis on quality content enabled it to emerge as a dominant force in the radio industry. However, it was in the 1930s and 1940s that NCB faced its most significant challenge—a fierce rivalry with WBS (Wire Broadcast Service).

NCB and WBS competed for audience attention and advertising revenue, leading to a dual monopoly in the broadcasting industry. This duopoly prompted concerns among regulators, leading to the enactment of antitrust laws. In response, the government enforced the breakup of NCB's monopoly, resulting in the birth of the American Center for Broadcasting (ACB) as a third network. ACB aimed to introduce healthy competition and promote diversity in the broadcasting landscape.

With the advent of television in the late 1940s, NCB eagerly embraced this new medium. Leveraging its existing infrastructure and programming expertise, NCB swiftly transitioned into television broadcasting, captivating audiences with its engaging content and cutting-edge visuals. The network became known for its stellar news coverage, compelling dramas, and innovative variety shows, showcasing the talents of emerging stars and delivering captivating entertainment to viewers' living rooms.

Throughout the ensuing decades, NCB remained a prominent player in the television industry, continually adapting to technological advancements and evolving audience preferences. The network expanded its programming lineup to include a diverse array of genres, ranging from thrilling sci-fi series to heartwarming sitcoms.

In 1989, NCB launched CFNCB (Consumer Finance Network for Conglomerated Broadcasting), a sister station with a skewed focus on economics and the stock market, helping investors make key and crucial decisions in their money-spending ventures. At the time, it was seen as an ambitious venture to compete with cable giants CCN and Saxon News. Regardless, CFNCB found its niche, and the network continues to report on economic and financial news to this very day.

As the 1990s unfolded, NCB embraced the digital age, establishing an online presence and utilizing emerging technologies to enhance the viewer experience. The network launched its website in 1995, offering viewers access to exclusive content, interactive features, and behind-the-scenes insights. It was also in this year that a majority of NCB's shareholdings were purchased by the conglomerate Sirona International, resulting in the formation of a sister station to NCB and CFNCB entitled SINCB, quaintly standing for "Sirona International Network for Conglomerated Broadcasting."

NCB's dedication to innovation and adaptability propelled it into the new millennium, where it continues to shape the future of broadcasting, captivating audiences with its compelling narratives and groundbreaking productions. However, it cannot be denied that NCB, once a member of the analog (Big Three) TV networks, has been reduced to nothing more than a propaganda arm of the multinational giant, Sirona International.

ACB (American Cable Broadcasting) - Written by Crrrow
ACB (American Center For Broadcasting) is a renowned television network that emerged as a direct result of the dual monopoly held by NCB (National Conglomerated Broadcasting) and WBS (Wire Broadcast Service) in the 1930s and 1940s. With concerns over monopolistic practices and a desire to foster healthy competition, the government intervened, enforcing antitrust laws that led to the breakup of NCB's monopoly. This development paved the way for the establishment of ACB in the mid-1940s.

ACB quickly emerged as a formidable force in the broadcasting landscape, aiming to provide viewers with diverse, high-quality programming. The network's initial focus was on ACB Radio, which featured a wide range of radio programs, including news, music, and drama. Building on the legacy of NCB Radio, ACB Radio became a trusted source of information and entertainment, captivating audiences with its engaging content and talented radio personalities.

In the 1950s, ACB expanded its reach by venturing into television broadcasting, launching ACB-TV. Leveraging the latest technological advancements, ACB-TV delivered captivating visuals and compelling storytelling to households across the nation. The network became known for its innovative programming, ranging from thought-provoking documentaries to entertaining game shows. ACB-TV quickly gained a loyal following and became a go-to destination for quality television content.

Over the years, ACB continued to flourish, offering a diverse array of programming across both ACB Radio and ACB-TV. The network expanded its lineup to include a wide range of genres, such as news, sports, sitcoms, dramas, and educational shows. ACB became synonymous with excellence, known for its groundbreaking documentaries, award-winning dramas, and immersive live event coverage. ACB World News became a staple of American TV news, covering significant events such as the Vietnam War, the death of Martin Luther King Jr., Ronald Reagan winning the 1976 Presidential Election, the Collapse of the USSR, the Persian Gulf War, and the trial of O.J. Simpson.

As the technological landscape evolved, ACB embraced digital advancements and expanded its presence online. The network launched an interactive website in 1995, allowing viewers to engage with their favorite shows, access exclusive content, and participate in online communities. ACB's commitment to staying at the forefront of technological innovation ensured that it remained a vital player in the broadcasting industry as it entered the new millennium.

Today, ACB continues to captivate audiences with its compelling storytelling and commitment to delivering high-quality programming. The network remains a cornerstone of the American media landscape, providing a diverse range of content that informs, entertains, and inspires viewers across the nation.

SNN (Sirona News Network) - Written by MindGate
SNN is a notable European cable news service that was launched in 1987 by the French multinational conglomerate Sirona International, in collaboration with the Saxon Media Group. With ambitions to challenge the global market dominance of CCN (Castle Cable Network), SNN made its way to the United States in the early 1990s, reaching American audiences through cable subscription services.

SNN aimed to provide comprehensive news coverage and analysis, covering a wide range of topics, including global affairs, politics, business, technology, and cultural events. As it vied for market dominance alongside CCN, SNN endeavored to deliver accurate, timely, and unbiased news reporting to its viewers.

CCN had established itself as the primary source of news and information for Americans and audiences worldwide since 1985. With a dominant presence in the global market, it posed a significant challenge to SNN's aspirations. The two networks engaged in fierce competition throughout the 1990s, each striving to secure market share and become the preferred choice for news consumers.

SNN became popular not only for its comprehensive news coverage but also due to the exceptional talents it featured. Personalities like Stuart Secker, a renowned anchor, played a significant role in attracting viewers to the network. Alongside Stuart, four other notable individuals contributed to SNN's success: Olivia Morrison, a seasoned investigative journalist known for her in-depth reporting on political scandals and corporate corruption; Lucas Diaz, an esteemed technology correspondent who specialized in covering the latest advancements and trends in the tech industry; Elena Rodriguez, a dynamic business news presenter with expertise in analyzing market trends, mergers, and financial developments; and Sophie Laurent, a cultural correspondent who explored diverse artistic expressions, literature, and social movements.

SNN's affiliation with Sirona International also played a crucial role in its prominence. As a subsidiary of the French multinational conglomerate, SNN was often at the forefront of announcing Sirona's new product lines and other company-related news. The network enjoyed exclusive access to release windows, allowing them to break the news to their viewers ahead of other media outlets.

Jean-Noël Roussimoff, the CEO of Sirona International, was a regular guest on Stuart Secker's talk show, aptly named the Secker Hour. The program provided a platform for Jean-Noël Roussimoff to discuss world politics, global events, and Sirona's contributions to various industries. This partnership between the CEO and Stuart Secker further solidified SNN's reputation for engaging and insightful political discussions.

As SNN and CCN clashed in their efforts for market dominance, they pushed the boundaries of news reporting and analysis. Both networks employed innovative techniques, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance the viewer experience. The competition between SNN and CCN fueled a race for breaking news, exclusive interviews, and comprehensive coverage of significant events, driving the networks to continually evolve their programming.

Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, SNN and CCN covered a wide array of historical events, often finding themselves in direct competition for exclusive coverage. From political upheavals and diplomatic breakthroughs to scientific advancements and cultural milestones, the two networks strove to provide their audiences with in-depth reporting and analysis.

Despite CCN's established dominance, SNN managed to carve out a niche and gain a dedicated following of viewers who appreciated its distinct approach to news reporting. The rivalry between the two networks resulted in a constant exchange of ideas and innovations, ultimately benefiting news consumers by offering them a wider variety of perspectives and sources of information.

By the end of the 1990s, SNN had firmly established itself as a credible news source in both Europe and the United States, though CCN retained its dominant position. The competition between SNN and CCN shaped the landscape of global news broadcasting, driving both networks to push the boundaries of journalism and deliver comprehensive coverage to their viewers.

SAXON News - Written by Crrrow
Saxon News, a cable news network, burst onto the media scene in 1987 under the ownership of media mogul Roger Ainsley Saxon. Created in partnership with AXXON Petroleum within the Saxon Media Group, the network was established to rival the dominant Castle Cable Network (CCN). In early 1988, Saxon News launched its sister station, SXN, which focused primarily on entertainment and TV shows.

From its inception, Saxon News has been surrounded by controversy. Critics have accused the network of biased reporting, particularly in favor of the Republican Party, its politicians, and conservative causes. Simultaneously, the Democratic Party has often been portrayed in a negative light. These allegations have raised concerns regarding the network's impact on the integrity of news reporting as a whole. Saxon News, however, has consistently denied any bias in its reporting, asserting that its news operations are independent of its opinion journalism.

Despite Saxon News' claims, evidence has pointed to clear instances of bias within the network's coverage. It has been observed that the channel's reporting often aligns closely with its sponsors' interests, particularly those of multinational conglomerate Sirona International. Critics argue that such practices undermine the objectivity and impartiality expected of reputable news organizations.

As the years progressed, Saxon News gained a significant following among viewers with conservative leanings. The network's programming included opinion-based talk shows, political analysis segments, and news coverage tailored to its target audience. Saxon News established a reputation as a platform for conservative viewpoints, cultivating a loyal viewership that sought news and commentary aligned with their political beliefs.

However, Saxon News' controversial reputation and perceived bias led to ongoing debates about the network's influence and impact on public discourse. While some lauded its contribution to a diversity of perspectives in the media landscape, others criticized the network for disseminating partisan viewpoints and contributing to a polarized political environment.

By the end of the 1990s, Saxon News had firmly established itself as a prominent player in the cable news market. Its influence continued to grow, shaping public opinion and participating in the coverage of significant historical events. Saxon News' legacy, however, remains a topic of ongoing scrutiny and debate among media scholars and viewers alike.

Located in Los Angeles, KCAS-9's studios underwent a lavish reconstruction and upgrade, transforming the station into a state-of-the-art broadcasting facility. Alongside the improvements, the station's transmitters were enhanced, enabling its signal to reach as far north as San Francisco and as far east as Las Vegas. This extended reach established KCAS-9 as a "Superstation," bringing its programming to a wider audience.

Throughout its history, KCAS-9 has been at the forefront of covering significant news events in Los Angeles. Under the umbrella of Cas-Tel (Castle Telecommunications), the station provided comprehensive coverage of major local events, ranging from the Rodney King beating and subsequent 1992 LA Riots to the infamous O.J. Simpson trial. KCAS-9's commitment to delivering timely news, premium satellite cable programming, sports coverage, and entertainment endeared it to the residents of Los Angeles.

As a "Superstation," KCAS-9 became a go-to source for a diverse range of programming for viewers in Los Angeles and beyond. The station's premium content offerings, including news, sports, and entertainment, solidified its place as a trusted source of information and engaging television. KCAS-9's commitment to delivering high-quality programming and its extensive coverage of local news events contributed to its status as a leading local television station in the Los Angeles area.

By the end of the 1990s, KCAS-9 had firmly established itself as an influential player in the media landscape of Los Angeles. Its dedication to providing comprehensive coverage, coupled with its commitment to technological advancements, allowed it to remain a staple in the homes of millions of viewers. KCAS-9's legacy as a provider of quality local programming continues to shape its identity as it moves forward into the new millennium.

Showcase: Corporations & Worldbuilding
Now, let's shift our focus to the corporations operating within the world of Ties That Bind. Over the past month, I have personally dedicated my efforts to developing these organizations in collaboration with Crrrow. All of these corporations will be playable, with the exception of Alencar-Costner Incorporated, which will open up for applications midway through Season 1 in City of Angels. I take great pride in what we have accomplished, and I'm excited to share that we are planning to compile a comprehensive world information resource, akin to a Mass Effect-style codex. This codex will be made available on the forums upon launch and will be regularly updated throughout the lore, providing easily accessible and relevant information to all players.

Sirona International
Sirona International is a prominent French multinational conglomerate renowned for its diversified portfolio of industries and groundbreaking research initiatives. Founded in the picturesque French Alps by the Roussimoff family, the company has grown into a global powerhouse with subsidiaries spanning numerous industries under the ownership of Jean-Noël Roussimoff. Its headquarters are based in Paris, France, while it maintains branch offices in Tokyo, Japan, and Los Angeles, California. Sirona's rise to prominence was marked by its fierce rivalry with CasCo, spearheaded by Vincent Castle. In a surprising turn of events, Sirona managed to acquire key holdings and properties of CasCo, including the Castle Tower, which now stands as an iconic symbol of the corporation's dominance across multiple sectors.

Distinguished for its commendable humanitarian efforts and groundbreaking research in genetics, Sirona International has consistently pushed the boundaries of scientific exploration. The company's commitment to improving the well-being of individuals across the world has resulted in remarkable advancements in medical treatments and therapies, only rivaled by the Biocell corporation. One of Sirona International's notable contributions is the production of Rejuvenex, an extraordinary first aid spray renowned for its ability to facilitate the healing of grievous wounds. This revolutionary product has revolutionized emergency medical services, military operations, and civilian healthcare by significantly expediting the recovery process for individuals with severe injuries. However, amidst its success and positive contributions, dark rumors and conspiracy theories have swirled around Sirona's shadowy undertakings.

Detractors accuse the corporation of engaging in dark activities, such as the abduction of "invisible" individuals, predominantly the homeless, for alleged human experimentation. These rumors have primarily centered around Sirona's South American branches. Additionally, there are claims that Sirona has been involved in covering up massacres perpetrated by Alencar-Costner Incorporated (ACI), a private military company closely associated with the conglomerate. ACI often serves as overseas security for Sirona's global interests, particularly in regions like Africa, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
One particularly chilling conspiracy theory implicates Sirona International in the infamous San Miguelito massacre of 1985. According to the theory, Sirona permitted ACI to carry out the atrocity and subsequently used their connections with the United States and Salvadoran governments to cover it up. Another conspiracy revolves around the Walker-Dewitt Crisis of 1978, where a U.S. Army train derailment resulted in the release of hazardous chemicals, prompting a mass evacuation. Whispers persist that some individuals "not accounted for" during the evacuation were subsequently declared missing but never found. Although Sirona's assistance in the clean up operation was sought by the United States Government, these conspiracy theories raise questions about the true extent of their involvements and the nature of their actions during the crisis.

While these allegations remain unsubstantiated and shrouded in conspiracy, they continue to fuel skepticism surrounding Sirona International. As the corporation forges ahead, expanding its influence and global presence, questions linger regarding the extent of their involvement in these shadowy activities. As of now, the truth remains elusive, leaving the public to grapple with the mysteries surrounding Sirona's actions and their impact on the world.

CasCo
(Written by Crrrow/Edited by MindGate)
CasCo, short for Castle Company, is a prominent multinational conglomerate and technology company. It was founded by Vincent "Vince" Castle in 1973 when he transformed his parents' garage into a small-scale computer technology manufacturing and distribution center. Over the years, CasCo expanded its operations to become the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of computer technology, video games, software, hardware, and defense/security systems.

During the late 1970s, CasCo experienced significant growth and success, driven by Vince Castle's entrepreneurial spirit and innovative vision. In just eight years, CasCo grew from a small garage-based operation into a global powerhouse. By leveraging emerging technologies and staying ahead of the competition, CasCo quickly became synonymous with cutting-edge advancements in the tech industry.

In the late 1970s, CasCo's ambition led to the acquisition of a telecommunications company, Woodwright Media, although the details surrounding the acquisition were shrouded in controversy. Following the unexplained death of Woodwright, CasCo succeeded in obtaining the company and immediately set forth on an ambitious plan to launch a 24-hour cable news network. Thus, Castle Cable Network (CCN) was born, delivering news and information to viewers around the clock starting January 1st, 1980, hosted by former WGC and soon-to-be newsman legend, Mike Rowell, in a lavish televised ceremony guaranteeing the network's success.

Building on the success of CCN, CasCo expanded its media empire by launching additional networks. In 1981, the Music Vision Network (MVN) brought music videos and entertainment programming to millions of households. The following year, Castle Sports Play Network (CSPN) catered to sports enthusiasts, offering live coverage of various sporting events. Concurrently, CasCo launched CCN2, ENT! (Entertainment Network Television!), and The Castle Network (TCN) in 1982, 1985, and 1985 again, further diversifying its media holdings.

In 1988, CasCo acquired the struggling local television station KHJ-TV in Los Angeles, rebranding it as KCAS-9 and expanding its broadcasting presence to the local market of Los Angeles, transforming it into a lavish "SuperStation" with the self-proclaimed slogan of "LA's Voice!"
CasCo faced challenges in the late 1980s and early 1990s as the global economic recession and the collapse of the Soviet Union significantly impacted the company's lucrative defense contracts. As a result, CasCo found itself under financial strain, forcing a strategic pivot back into the civilian market. With the rise of new competitors like Sirona International, CasCo focused its resources on developing computers, video games, and managing its telecommunications assets.

Furthermore, CasCo encountered fierce competition in the media landscape, particularly from a right-wing-based cable network known as Saxon News, which paralleled CCN in viewership and range but with a much more skewed framing of its journalism. This rivalry intensified during the late 1980s and early 1990s as both networks vied for viewership and market dominance.

Today, CasCo remains a symbol of entrepreneurial success and technological advancement in software and hardware development, telecommunications, defense/security systems, and even robotics, paving the way for a bright 21st century and a better future for all.

Alencar-Costner Incorporated
Alencar-Costner Incorporated, a prominent American private military contractor, stands as a testament to the collaboration between Luís Lázaro Alencar, a Brazilian-born naturalized U.S. citizen and former U.S. Navy SEAL, and Thomas Costner, a distinguished German Kampfschwimmer. Founded in 1975, this corporation has played a pivotal role in providing contract security services to the United States federal government, including extensive involvement with the Central Intelligence Agency.

Sirona International, a renowned multinational conglomerate, has been a key partner of Alencar-Costner Incorporated, often entrusting them with security operations in their Middle Eastern holdings. Specializing in safeguarding these overseas interests, the corporation has garnered a reputation for its unwavering commitment to rescue operations and protection services. Despite the controversy surrounding their past, the company maintains a formidable presence, boasting around twelve platoons of highly trained operators, an impressive fleet of combat vehicles, and a fleet of transport aircraft.

Alencar-Costner found itself mired by a dark event that unfolded in 1985: the San Miguelito massacre, where 76 Salvadoran civilians perished and the village was obliterated. While local government officials have largely attributed the tragedy to the Atlácatl Battalion, a rapid-response, counter-insurgency battalion of the Salvadoran Army created previously, which was implicated in some of the most infamous massacres of the Salvadoran Civil War, conspiracy theorists contend that Sirona International, along with Alencar-Costner, played a part in the incident, fueling speculations of a cover-up due to their close ties with the United States Government. No definitive evidence has been found to substantiate these claims, leaving the incident shrouded in uncertainty and speculation.

Announcement: New & Updated Rules
We are pleased to announce that we have conducted a comprehensive overhaul of our rules and general server directives. These updated guidelines can be found at the link provided below. We strongly encourage everyone to take a moment to review and familiarize themselves with the changes we have implemented.

Announcement: Revamped Combat System, New Items, and Stealth System
Over the past few months, I have personally been hard at work on overhauling our current combat system. The changes have been too numerous to go into detail on every single change, I’ll include a little changelog at the bottom of this, but for the biggest changes:
  1. Movement System Overhaul: We have revamped the movement system to allow characters to traverse larger spaces with less Action Points (AP). This change addresses the issue of combat progressing too slowly and enables faster momentum. It also introduces more tactical decision-making opportunities that were previously limited by our more restrictive system.
  2. Weapon Overhaul: Every available weapon type has undergone extensive changes. New abilities, such as armor piercing and different firing types, have been introduced. Additionally, the damage dealt by all attacks has been significantly increased. These adjustments aim to add a realistic layer to combat, speed up the overall pace, and increase the consequences of poor tactical decisions or mistakes. The previously underpowered melee weapon system has also received special attention in this overhaul.
  3. Health, Traits, Injuries, Downs, and Armor Overhaul: These aspects of the combat system have also undergone significant changes. The default health pool is now set at 100HP, but it can increase or decrease based on selected traits during character creation or incurred permanent wounds/traits from events. Traits now have the potential to directly impact combat capabilities, providing unique bonuses or drawbacks. The effect of traits on combat is being tested on a trial basis to gather public feedback. Additionally, the "Wound" system has been expanded to include two types: minor and heavy wounds. Minor wounds result from attacks from attacks dealing over 50HP damage. incur a stackable -10HP penalty, while heavy wounds result from critical attacks or those dealing over 75HP damage. Heavy wounds impose a -25HP penalty, restrict weapon options, and reduce movement to one tile per AP. Medical items are required to remove these penalties.
  4. Three Strikes Rule: Each time a character goes down, they gain an additional heavy wound. Characters can only go down three times, and after the third instance, they die outright.
With the comprehensive changes mentioned above, I have also introduced new unique items to expand our medical systems. These items have been designed with custom sprite work and retextured in-game world models. Below, you will find a list of the newly added medical items, as a note - bandages and makeshift bandages (ripped sheets) are still included in the new system:

First Aid Kit:
An all-encompassing healing item that restores you to maximum HP and heals both heavy and minor wounds.

Revitalisol:
A medicinal spray that restores a 75HP and treats the BLEEDING status effect as well as all minor wounds. Can also be used to sterilize bandages and fight wound infections.

Rejuvenex:
A medicinal spray that restores a 75HP and treats the BLEEDING status effect as well as all minor wounds. Can also be used to sterilize bandages and fight wound infections

Vitalix:
A supplement that restores 20HP. Can also be used to alleviate vanilla panic.

Hemolock:
A supplement that treats the bleeding status effect. Can also be used to alleviate vanilla pain.

Purifinex:
A supplement that cures the poisoned status effect. Can also be used to alleviate vanilla fatigue.

Wound Kits:
Does not recover HP but heals both heavy and minor wounds.

Splint Kits:
Used to treat the “FRACTURED” effect.

Additionally, based on the substantial feedback we received from the previous lore, we have completely overhauled and introduced a brand new turn-based stealth system for use in events where combat may not be the most appropriate approach. The amount of new content is too numerous to list here, a link will be included below this, I implore you to check it out and give us your feedback on the system! I’m very proud of it and excited to see how it handles in game.

Announcement: Notoriety System
We have implemented a notoriety system that serves multiple purposes within the game.

Firstly, it allows us to track the most "notorious" characters on the server, providing players with information about well-known individuals circulating around the worldspace.

Secondly, it serves as a recap system for significant actions taken during events, such as public raids against major factions, high-profile assassinations, worldspace-changing choices, or even just pre-outbreak celebrity status. These noteworthy achievements or events will be displayed on the notoriety board.

Thirdly, the system integrates with the rumor mill, where the spread and believability of in-game rumors impact the notoriety system. The more widely accepted a rumor becomes, the higher the chance it will be added to the notoriety board as an "alleged fact" alongside other information.
This system greatly expands the possibilities for character growth, allowing endorsed characters to present themselves as philanthropists while concealing their true monstrous nature behind the scenes.

Lastly, the notoriety system directly influences the functions of our Stealth System. As your character's fame and notoriety increase, there is a higher chance of being recognized by others, requiring you to carefully manage your public status. It becomes crucial to consider employing disguises, laying low, or even abstaining from participating in certain sections of an event that heavily rely on stealth. This dynamic adds a strategic element to gameplay, prompting players to assess the consequences of their actions and make tactical choices to maintain their cover and successfully navigate stealth-focused situations.

More information on the Notoriety System can be found at the link below.

Announcement: Nemesis System
To further enhance the dynamic and immersive nature of our new system, we are excited to introduce the Nemesis System. This addition aims to enrich the experience of hostile enemies by providing a progression method based on their performance in combat. As enemies survive encounters, they become more powerful and gain valuable knowledge about your character's fighting style. This knowledge grants them unique abilities specifically designed to counter your tactics.

Furthermore, as player characters engage in feuds, they can enter into rivalries, both characters involved become a distinct Nemesis to each other with abilities designed to potentially outdo the other. As the rivalry escalates, both characters will acquire new abilities, and current NPC followers may provide valuable leads regarding their Player Nemesis' whereabouts and objectives. Successfully countering, thwarting, or disrupting the objectives of a Player Nemesis will increase the character's level, granting them even more powerful advantages in their ongoing conflict. It's important to note that a character's Player Nemesis will possess equal capability to target and hinder them in return.

For more detailed information about the Nemesis System, please visit the resource below.

This comprehensive resource includes every weapon available in our combat system, making it easy to search for specific weapons using the search bar and conveniently copy and paste them in-game for attacks with a simple click. The same user-friendly functions are also incorporated into our new Ability List page.

Tell-All: What’s Going On?
I want to preface this by saying that this section is more personal than the rest of the newsletter, and I understand if you choose not to read it. However, I believe in transparency and want to share what has been happening in our lives. The past few months have been incredibly challenging for Envy, Pika, and me. While I can only speak for myself, I know that the others have also faced their own difficulties, including family losses and financial struggles.

Many of you may already be aware that I work as a nurse, caring for my mother who has been disabled due to a heart attack and two strokes. The work is demanding, relentless, and often isolating, leaving me constantly wondering about what lies ahead. Despite these challenges and the lack of help from my family, I have tirelessly fought to support my mother through her recovery.

Unfortunately, the story doesn't end there, as much as I wish it had. In the midst of it all, I have encountered a series of problems that started to outright bury me. These include being the victim of a burglary, and only a few months later, a victim of a home invasion that involved a terrifying encounter at knifepoint and even nearly ran over in our alley in what I believe was an attempt on my life. I have also experienced targeted harassment from a family member that I believe was involved in some form, who has made it their mission to tarnish my reputation with false accusations and slander. And most recently, I faced the very real threat of losing my home and ultimately having no place to go.

All of this has accumulated and taken a massive toll on my mental health and to say I haven’t been in a good place is a colossal understatement. I want to assure you that I am not seeking pity or sympathy, but I felt it was important for you to understand the reasons behind my prolonged absence from the server and the slower progress I have made during this time. Nevertheless, I am now back and committed to investing as much time as possible into our community, while also prioritizing my personal well-being.

I apologize for the lack of progress, transparency, updates, and any unfulfilled promises made regarding release window estimates last year. I want you all to know how deeply I appreciate your unwavering support, your patience, and your continued presence within the community. Your faith in us means everything, not only to me but to the entire staff.

Thank you for your understanding, and please know that I am here, ready to contribute, and striving to improve both our server and my own life circumstances.

Recruitment: Server Contributors
Are you experienced with building on Project Zomboid? Do you have an abundance of time? Do you like working for an ungodly amount of time in a role that receives very little praise? Do you generally hate yourself and want to feel physical and mental pain? Consider sending us a DM and asking about getting a role as a Server Contributor! We are currently seeking mappers to join our contributor team and assist with the development of buildings for Los Angeles, as well as future event builds for the current and future lores.

Embrace the suck and pester an admin now!

Welcome to the Team!
I wanted to take a moment of time to extend a fond welcome to Crrrow (otherwise known as CCNInteractive/Sci on the Discord), Erin and Jade to the contributor team. I can promise all of you will suffer greatly and ultimately come to regret your decision in the coming months. If you're reading this, what are you doing? GET BACK TO WORK! NOBODY APPROVED OF ANY BREAKS!

In Closing
We want to reiterate that everything we shared in our previous newsletter (also, we fixed it if you need to catch yourself up on what we've already shown off. link provided below) still holds true. This entire lore project is a labor of love for each of us, and we are incredibly excited for the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the story and collaborate with all of you.
Your feedback is invaluable to us, so please don't hesitate to share your thoughts and ideas. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read this issue of Not-So-Weekly. I promise to try and avoid there being such a significant gap of time between this one and the next!
