≫ WHAT WE BECOME: SURVIVOR STORIES APPLICATIONS ≪

  • Applications for What We Become: Survivor Stories are currently on hold while we work on creating our second wave of combat tests.

What We Become: Survivor Stories is a series of bite-sized scenarios meant to test our new and improved combat system in action! Our first wave contained 5 different scenarios, all taking place within the What We Become universe. Our second wave will contain 5 more scenarios. If you've been waiting to play on the server, now's your chance!

Additionally, each scenario has a limited number of slots for each role in the party, as well as an overall participation limit. If you apply for a role/scenario that is already full, you will be asked to apply for a different role/scenario. You can view the number of slots remaining for the current scenario on its respective forum post, linked above.

Leaving Home - Jamie Fisher

Jamie smirked, he never thought this time would come, almost everyone had gone and almost all the food had gone with them. He packed his things, put them in a small suitcase and placed it at the bottom of the stairs. As he stood at the bottom of the imperial staircase, he admired the vast space his father had purchased all those years ago. Truthfully, he hadn't walked around the house room by room properly since he was a child, playing with his friends before the world turned to chaos. As if on queue, the memories from all those years ago which he had tried to suppress for his own mental security came flooding back all at once. He remembered everyone he had lost, how he had lost them and how he should have tried harder, how he should have put his life on the line for theirs as they would have done for him. As he stood there he made a promise to himself to do right by those, who do right by him.

He made his way to the doorway that led the the garage, reaching out and turning the knob letting himself in. It was still untouched from all those years ago, a thin layer of dust coated almost everything and the opening of the door stirred some of it into the air making Jamie cough. The natural light from the two rectangular windows overhead provided a fair amount of vision allowing Jamie to survey the room properly.

Everything was where his father had left it, tools were still left leaning against the shelving unit in the far corner, the golfing magazines which he would read sat strewn across the floor near the center of the room and tarpaulin covering the car near the garage door remained untouched. Jamie slowly removed the cover trying to prevent dust from going everywhere but failed miserably, resulting in another coughing fit. Looking at the back left of the vehicle he noticed it had still been plugged in to it's charging port which was linked to the few dozen solar panels behind and on the roof of the house.

Placing his suitcase on the backseat of the car, Jamie moved and placed himself in the drivers seat. He had only ever driven this car once, a couple of months before the apocalypse but since then he had learned everything there was to driving a car through books, but now was the time to put it into practice. He looked at the console in front of him smirked and said "It's a Tesla, can't be that hard." before pushing the key in and pressing the push to start. As the car came to life, Jamie opened the garage door and drove the car down the spacious driveway and out of the front gate.
