List of Offenses and Punishment within Monroe
Punishments vary depending on the severity of the crime, and any and all punishment listed by the crime may be chosen as judged fitting. However, punishment may not exceed the ones listed by the crime - only exception being repeat offenses or crimes committed during a state of emergency, which may lead to more severe punishment and potential termination of citizenship and subsequent banishment.
In cases where another group or nation is involved, the court may decide to hand over the suspect or convict to them.

Various Misdemeanors
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Public indecency
- Disrespecting an officer of the law
- Disrespect a member of the Monroe administration
- Rude conduct, including knowingly causing grief to others.
- Vandalism
- Immediate judgement on minor offenses may be made by an officer of the law. If severe or repeat offenses, there will be a trial.
- Ranging from a warning, 4 gold fine, and up to 3 days of imprisonment depending on severity.
Insubordination
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Insubordination towards a superior officer of the law, if part of the guard or peacekeeper force.
- Insubordination towards a superior within the associated workforce.
- Immediately decided by the superior in question.
- Ranging from a warning, 4 gold fine, firing, or up to a week of imprisonment depending on severity.
Theft
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Theft of personal property
- Car theft
- Animal theft
- Decided by a court of law.
- Return of all stolen goods, or monetary compensation of equal value. Fine from 4 to 50 gold, and up to a month of imprisonment.
Robbery/Burglary
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Robbing a person within their house
- Robbing a person within a public building or space
- A Monroe citizen robbing a person, citizen or otherwise, outside of Monroe.
- Decided by a court of law.
- Return of all stolen goods or monetary compensation of equal value. Fine from 4 to 50 gold. Labor to Hard labor, and up to two months of imprisonment.
Aiding and abetting
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Harboring a known criminal
- Aiding in criminal acts
- Decided by a court of law.
- Very dependent on the nature of the offenses the criminal in question has committed. Use the punishment for their offenses as a
Identity theft or false identity
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Pretending to be someone living or dead for the purposes of breaking the law and/or causing harm.
- Taking on a false identity for the purposes of breaking the law and/or causing harm.
- Claiming to be a Citizen without a Citizenship license.
Possible punishment:
- Decided by a court of law
- Fine of 4 to 30 gold, labor or hard labor, and up to a month of imprisonment.
Impersonating a Monroe official or officer of the law
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Impersonating the Minister.
- Impersonating any member of the Monroe Council.
- Impersonating a guard or peacekeeper.
- Decided by a court of law.
- Fine of 4 to 50 gold, hard labor, and up to a month of imprisonment.
Endangerment
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Knowingly or unknowingly creating a severely hazardous area or situation within Monroe.
- Knowingly or unknowingly bringing a person, citizen or otherwise, into a seriously hazardous situation within or outside of Monroe.
- Does not include volunteer work or military service.
- Decided by a court of law
- Fine of 10 to 30 gold, labor or hard labor, and up to a month of imprisonment.
Includes but may not be limited to:
- The act of a Monroe Citizen, knowingly or neglectfully, starting a pregnancy without a Procreation License.
- Decided by a court of law.
- Fine of 20 gold. (all cases, paid by each convicted citizen)
Wastefulness
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Wasting water
- Wasting food
- Wasting other life-supporting resources
- The waste of life-supporting equipment
- Waste of rare resources or equipment.
- Decided by a court of law
- Restocking of wasted goods or monetary compensation. Fine of 2 to 40 gold. Labor to hard labor, and up to a month of imprisonment.
Assault
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Assault on a citizen of Monroe where it is not deemed self defense.
- Assault on a person outside of Monroe where it is not deemed self defense.
- Decided by a court of law.
- Fine of 5 to 30 gold, labor or hard labor, imprisonment up to 3 months.
Kidnapping
Includes but may not be limited to:
- Taking away the freedom of another person within Monroe.
- Taking away the freedom of another person outside Monroe.
- Decided by a court of law.
- Labor or hard labor, imprisonment up to 2 months.
Torture
Includes but may not be limited to:
- The knowing/premeditated and sustained bodily and/or mental harming of someone within Monroe.
- The knowing/premeditated and sustained bodily and/or mental harming of someone outside of Monroe.
- Decided by a court of law.
- Hard labor, imprisonment up to 3 months.
Murder - Manslaughter
Includes but may not be limited to:
- The accidental killing of a person or persons within or outside of Monroe.
- Decided by a court of law.
- Hard labor, imprisonment up to 4 months
Murder - Premeditated
Includes but may not be limited to:
- The planned killing of a person within or outside of Monroe.
- Decided by a court of law.
- Execution.
