≫ WHAT WE BECOME: SURVIVOR STORIES APPLICATIONS ≪

  • Applications for What We Become: Survivor Stories are currently on hold while we work on creating our second wave of combat tests.

What We Become: Survivor Stories is a series of bite-sized scenarios meant to test our new and improved combat system in action! Our first wave contained 5 different scenarios, all taking place within the What We Become universe. Our second wave will contain 5 more scenarios. If you've been waiting to play on the server, now's your chance!

Additionally, each scenario has a limited number of slots for each role in the party, as well as an overall participation limit. If you apply for a role/scenario that is already full, you will be asked to apply for a different role/scenario. You can view the number of slots remaining for the current scenario on its respective forum post, linked above.

Make sure to check out our latest newsletter if you haven't yet! It has lots of information about our upcoming lore, among other things.

Basic Information:
Age: 50ish (?)
Height: 6' not including the hair
Weight: 220ish
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Hazel
Current Occupation: Semi-Retired Lumberjack and Part-Time Carpenter
Appearance:
Wild white hair sticking up, unkempt white beard. Thick with old man muscle, mainly in the chest, shoulders and arms. More country strong than ripped. His face is weather beaten from years spent outside. Wears dark pants, a brown raincoat, little old lady glasses he stole from a Zombie and a hearing aid.
Personality:
Abe has an off beat and sometimes unusual personality. He looks at things differently than most people, at least sometimes anyways, which can earn him strange looks. He is almost always happy go lucky and smiling, always willing to help, quick to make friends and will fiercely defend them if needed. He enjoys wandering and tends to be restless, causing him to explore anywhere he happens to be.

His main goal is to survive until he finds a way to reach his family again, and to help others around him as best he can. Without his wife, Molly, he's a little worried about where his mind might wander.
Background:
Abraham (Abe) always knew he was different. Even early in life, he was known as the "weird" or "kooky". He enjoyed being the strange one, but this caused him to have social issues in high school, and he was shunned by most other students.

In his early 20's, he began to go down a darker path as he fell under the influence of some other not-so-good people, who he thought were his friends. Turning to gambling and drinking along with them, he began to fall on darker times. He didn't turn to 'true' crime, but he began to build up a lot of anger inside, which turned into fighting in bars and disorderly conduct in general. However, he still had a good heart, and refrained from committing any 'serious' crimes. Being in a small town, he usually got off with a warning or sleeping it off at the town jail.

Eventually, he found a woman (or she found him) who saw something in him, and also happened to be tough as nails. Molly, for whatever reason, took him aside and began to set him on the right path, and didn't put up with any bullshit. After some time, he began to heal and become the person he was supposed to be, much to Molly's joy. Soon after, they got married and moved to Jefferson City, MO, where he took on work as a lumberjack. He felt at home in the woods, enjoying talking to the trees and animals, even though they didn't respond.

After a couple years, they had two kids, William and Belle, and life was good. Abe remained his usual off beat self, and for the most part, was able to keep any left over anger from his youth at bay. His kids grew up to be teenagers, and were happy and well adjusted, not that they had a choice with Molly. All in all, life was good.

About a week before the Outbreak began, Abe was asked to head south to Muldraugh to help train a number of new employees at the local lumbermill. It was something he did frequently these days, having semi-retired from full time work in the field. However, he still managed to keep himself in good shape, and remained not far off his weight growing up.

Before he left, his wife and kids decided to go on a vacation to Colorado with a family friend and his own family. Abe was set to meet them there soon after he was done with his current job, but the outbreak decided to interfere. During the first few days, Abe was able to maintain contact with them, and was grateful they were up in the mountains at an isolated ski resort, well supplied and in a state with no cases reported. Not to mention the family friend was a decorated cop. Knowing they were safe kept him relatively sane, but knowing he was trapped away from them ate away at his conscious. For some reason, he had a bad feeling about the situation.

He made plans to make his way to them somehow, but kept getting met with roadblocks keeping him from moving forward. After some time, he lost contact, but the last he heard, they were safe and sound and enjoying some hot cocoa.

Luckily, he has heard there is a mandatory military pick up zone in Muldraugh, where he hopes to find a way there through Louisville...
